1 CD Label: Musicaphon (M 56975) Published in 2016
Composer: Hans Werner Henze
Guitar: Stefan Koim
On his CD "Royal", the guitarist Stefan Koim explores the the royal context of music of four centuries. John Dowland's future-oriented music from the end of the 16th century prepares the ground for and contrast to Benjamin Britten's Nocturnal after John Dowland op. 70. Henze's Royal Winter Music, however, describes and characterises the abysses of the absolutist regime.
