Mission and activities of the Hans Werner Henze Foundation
From 25 May 2018 until the end of the season, the exhibition Canti di colore. I dipinti di Hans Werner Henze is being presented in the Berlin Philharmonie. The suggestion came from the head of the Herbert von Karajan Academy, Peter Riegelbauer; Oliver Hilmes from the Berliner Philharmoniker is largely responsible for the organisation.
At the opening in the Chamber Music Hall of the Philharmonie, Matthias Pintscher and Michael Kerstan will introduce the exhibition and the subsequent concert with works by Helmut Lachenmann (Mouvement - vor der Erstarrung), Hans Werner Henze (Le Miracle de la Rose - Imaginäres Theater II) and Matthias Pintscher (bereshit für großes Ensemble). The ensemble of Herbert von Karajan Academy scholarship holders will perform; the soloist in Henze's clarinet concerto is Leandra Brehm, the musical director is Matthias Pintscher.
The following day, the exhibition will be moved to the 2nd gallery, where it can be enjoyed by concert-goers until the end of the season.
