The Wiesbaden State Theatre is turning the new production of "Elegy for Young Lovers" into an opportunity for a Henze focus during the festival.

The Munich Biennale - International Festival for New Music Theater honors its founder Hans Werner Henze with two important concerts.

On April 9, The concert audience of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan witnessed a terrific world premiere: Sir Antonio Pappano conducted the latest piece of Riccardo Panfili, first fellow of the Hans Werner Henze-Foundation. It is called “L'Aurora, probabilmente” (“The dawn, probably”).

On his research for the roots of the “Three Tentos” of the “Kammermusik 1958”, guitarist and composer Andres Grün made a sensational discovery.

We are deeply moved to hear the news of Gerd Albrecht's demise. The conductor, enjoying early fame (at 28 he became Germany's youngest GMD in Lübeck), had been a constant in Hans Werner Henze's musical life since the late 1960s.

At its meeting on November 5, 2013, the Artistic Advisory Board and the Board of Directors unanimously decided to award the first Hans Werner Henze Foundation scholarship to the Italian composer Riccardo Panfili. This involves a monthly payment for two years.

The moving ceremony took place in the morning of October 4, 2013, assisted by members of the University, numerous friends and colleagues of the Maestro in the Aula de’ Battilani of the University of Florence, accompanied by some filmed interviews and guitarist Duccio Bianchi, who performed Henze’s Drei Tentos.

The composer's biographical data and a complete list of works are now generally available; a list of publications is under construction, as well as a calendar of events. Of course, the Foundation's activities will also be reported here.

In June 2007, composer Hans Werner Henze made first considerations about a foundation in order to make sure, that after his demise, his oeuvre and his educational impulses and initiatives would continue to live and to be spread.
