Hans Werner Henze Foundation at the International Conference on Music Analysis and Theory in Rimini

The Hans Werner Henze Foundation was invited to speak at the XVIII. International Conference on Music Analysis and Theory in Rimini to talk about its founder.
At the XVIII Convegno Internazionale di Analisi e Teoria Musicale, held from 28 to 31 October 2021 at the ISSM (Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali) ‘G. Lettimi’ in Rimini, the Managing Director of the Hans Werner Henze Foundation gave a lecture on Hans Werner Henze, his biographical milestones and his aesthetic, pedagogical and political ideas. Another topic was the work of the foundation set up by the composer.
Federica Marsico, lecturer at the Università Ca' Foscari, Venice and McGill University, Montreal, represented the point of view of gender studies and reported on her work, “The exploration of otherness in Henze's stage works”.
Finally, the composer Paolo Marzocchi talked about his project Henze in Cuba - A film and a concert based on the suite of Lieder und Tänze from the TV opera La Cubana, presented on 6 October 2021 as part of the Sagra Malatestiana music festival in Rimini.
