Hans Werner Henze at his estate La Leprara

Together with the new CD recording of the two guitar sonatas Royal Winter Music I and II, the DVD documentary Hans Werner Henze at Villa La Leprara (in Marino near Rome) has been released. In the two-hour film, shot in May 2017, Michael Kerstan (Hans Werner Henze Foundation) tells guitarist Marco Minà which of Henze's pieces or which events in his life the various rooms of the house and different areas in the garden are related to. In addition, it shares much of the atmosphere and cultural significance of the estate before it was sold meanwhile.

This is due to the young director Gianmarco Santoro from Campo Leone (Latina), supported by Vincenzo Laria, who voice recorded various quotes from Henze's autobiography.
