Comment
The adaptation of this popular Neapolitan opera was made for the opening of the first Cantiere Internazionale, in the Piazza Grande at Montepulciano, and responds to the needs and circumstances of open-air productions. Strong contrasting effects between the instrumental groups are intended. It is desirable, but not compulsory, to include the prose scenes between Don Quixote and Sancho Pansa, which were specially written by Giuseppe di Leva.
