Geburtstag ihres Stifters (*1.7.1926) produziert die Hans Werner Henze-Stiftung in Kooperation mit dem Musikjournalismuskollektiv MUJK eine Podcast-Serie: Darin wird die Relevanz des Komponisten, seines Werkens und Wirkens nicht nur zu Lebzeiten, sondern auch für künftige Generationen hör- und erfahrbar gemacht.

The Rome Opera celebrated the composer’s anniversary in May 2026 with a unique Henze-Cuba festival.
The highlight of the festival was the Italian premiere of “La Piccola Cubana” and the recital “El Cimarrón”, each featuring two performances.

As part of the Roman Henze-Cuba Festival, Michael Kerstan spoke in Rome with the Cuban ethnologist Miguel Barnet, the author of the two ethnobiographical novels on which Henze’s works "El Cimarrón" and "La piccola Cubana" are based.

The illustrated book ‘A casa di Hans’, which was published in June 2021, is now also available in German. The translation was done by Julia Elisabeth Hartmann, and the introduction was written by Michael Kerstan, chairman of the Hans Werner Henze Foundation.

The Hans Werner Henze Foundation is delighted to welcome a new member to its Foundation Board: Christiane Albiez joined the team chaired by Peter Ruzicka in June 2025. During the last decade of Henze's life, she was a great supporter and close friend to him.
