Big Relaunch of the Website

A richly illustrated and informative magazine on the homepage already arouses curiosity about the different areas.

The Hans Werner Henze - Composer of Our Time is another new feature. This allows you to explore the life of the maestro in a completely new way. Articles with conversations and interviews, encounters with contemporary witnesses, journalistic and autobiographical material, visual art, documentaries, honours, festivals, media and remarkable productions provide brand new insights into the work, impact and charisma of Hans Werner Henze's oeuvre. The section is constantly being expanded and supplemented.

As before, the Hans Werner Henze Foundation's directory is the only catalogue raisonnée containing all of Hans Werner Henze's musical works.

After years of research, cataloguing and restoration work, we are now presenting another novelty: a picture gallery with a selection of more than 1000 photos of all stages of Hans Werner Henze's life, which provide an overall picture of the backgrounds and contexts in which many works were created. Snapshots, some of them rather private, provide information about encounters, successes and challenges, and the gallery continues to grow.

As before, performances of the composer's works around the world are included in a calendar of events. Since September 2013, all these events have been collected in an archive.In the catalogue of works, we also provide the list of performances of each work since the website was launched in 2013.

As in previous years, information on new publications, books, recordings and recordings on CD will be published continuously. In the list of publications we are compiling books (by and about Hans Werner Henze), recordings up to the early years, DVDs, essays, academic theses and much more.

In addition to the presentation and visualisation of Hans Werner Henze's work on this page, the Foundation's mission also includes the dissemination of the composer's musical message and the promotion of young composers as well as music education projects. This page contains a detailed list of the Foundation's news since its establishment.
