Hans Werner Henze-Foundation goes online
With our site we would like to ensure that anyone working in the field (musicians, theatre people, journalists) has easy and quick access to all the essential information about the life and work of maestro Hans Werner Henze and that scholars can still find enough new things to make browsing the pages exciting.
Of course, we will report in detail on the activities of the foundation, which has already begun its work and will soon be presenting its first results.
The work of the foundation is defined by a statute which Henze himself stipulated in his will.

There are four directories in the center of the homepage,
- the essential dates of Hans Werner Henze's life
- the list of works by Hans Werner Henze, to which he added numerous comments of his own (the sources are the websites of the publishers Schott Music and Chester Music, the printed list of works by Hans Werner Henze from 1996 and the corresponding article "Hans Werner Henze" by Peter Petersen in: H.-W. Heister/W.-W. Sparrer (eds.): Komponisten der Gegenwart, 44. Nachlieferung, München 2011.
- A calendar of events with performances of Hans Werner Henze's works, which is constantly updated. Past events can be found in the archive and in the entry for the respective piece in the list of works. Individual performances are also linked to the corresponding publications and the organizer. Interested parties can therefore order tickets directly from the organizer with just a few clicks from the performance information and find out about printed sheet music, sound recordings, DVDs or secondary literature and also order these from the publisher if desired.
- The media lists - bibliography, discography and videography are still under construction and will be completed continuously. Likewise, the calendar of events with pieces by Hans Werner Henze and other events related to his personality must be completed gradually.
