Revision of the 2nd edition of "Canti di viaggio"

The Milan publishing house Il Saggiatore had the two autobiographical volumes Reiselieder mit böhmischen Quinten and Nachtstücke aus dem Morgenland from 1996 and 2003 translated, compiled into one book and published in 2005 under the title Canti di Viaggio.

Musicologist Elena Minetti, the artistic director of the Turin Opera, Gastón Fournier Facio, and Michael Kerstan from the Hans Werner Henze Foundation are the editors responsible for the new edition. The aim is to correct the numerous translation errors, to continue the biographical information up to Henze's death on 27 October 2012 and to supplement the biography with significant events in the composer's life from 2003 to 2012. In addition, the publisher is giving the editors the opportunity to include 20 pages of photographs from 86 years of Henze's life and short descriptions of key works in the book, as well as 5 of his essays and interviews not yet published in Italian. The book also includes an exclusive link to a video interview produced by Anton Giulio Onofri and Gastón Fournier Facio in 2006 for a concert to mark the composer's 80th birthday.

The three editors are presenting the book from 2016-2018 with lectures in Milan, Montepulciano, Rimini and Rome.
