On 26 July, Elena Minetti and Michael Kerstan will present the 2nd Italian edition of Henze's autobiography, Canti di Viaggio. Una vita, this time in Rimini as part of the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, the large music festival of Emilia Romagna. Afterwards there will be a performance of El Cimarrón with Italian musicians and the American baritone Nicholas Isherwood.

Five years after Hans Werner Henze's death, a large part of his artwork has been made accessible to the public for the first time. We owe this to the enthusiasm of the Cantiere's artistic director, Roland Böer.

On 28 March, the editors Elena Minetti, Gastón Fournier Facio and Michael Kerstan will present the 2nd Italian edition of Henze's autobiography Canti di Viaggio. Una vita in Milan with a lecture and photo presentation. They had been invited by the Friends of the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, who reside in the spacious villa of Signora Anna Crespi Morbio just behind the opera house, and were attended by an interested and enthusiastic audience.

The the Research Centre for Music and Gender at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Mediasymposium is organising a symposium on 3 February 2017 under the direction of Antje Tumat.entitled “Gesellschaft. Gender. Gesang. Hans Werner Henze's music theatre and The English Cat”.

On 30 September, the DoelenEnsemble performs Henze's Requiem together with the notabu.ensemble neue musik at the Tonhalle in Düsseldorf. The soloists are Bassam Mussad (trumpet) and Maaren van Veen (piano), with Mark-Andreas Schlingensiepen conducting. As an introduction, there will be a conversation between the dramaturge of the Tonhalle, Uwe Sommer, and the managing director of the Hans Werner Henze Foundation, Michael Kerstan.

In August 2016, Elena Minetti, Gastón Fournier Facio and Michael Kerstan are working on the revision of the Italian edition of Henze's two autobiographical volumes in several phases at La Leprara.

For the 41st Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in Montepulciano, Michael Kerstan is organising an exhibition in the lobby of the Teatro Poliziano with 18 stage and costume designs, some of them large-scale and culturally and historically relevant.

The 27 year old German composer has been chosen unanimously by the artistic council of the Hans Werner Henze Foundation.

The award “Grifo Poliziano” 2015 was given to the memory of Maestro Hans Werner Henze. This distinction is reserved for personalities committed to Montepulciano's and it's territory's international reputation and who have realized projects promising growth and development. This year the award is an hommage to the founder of the Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte. The director of the Hans Werner Henze Foundation, Dr. Michael Kerstan, participated in the ceremony on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Teatro Poliziano to receive the recognition.

To mark the 40th Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte in Montepulciano, the Hans Werner Henze Foundation is organising an exhibition in the fortress of Montepulciano with exhibits from Henze's painting collection.
